Identifying the urban inconvenience of commuting through the conceptual vision of urban planning, interaction design, and data visualization.
MORE INFO -
Everyday over a million people commute into New York City. By driving, taking trains, ferries, metros, etc., people depend on getting too and from the city through different types of transportation, but have little knowledge of the environmental and mental health impacts commuting emits. With increasing urban communities, and the need for better sustainable cities, more needs to be done to bring awareness and create efficient and holistic commuting systems.
ROLE -
Graphic Design, Concept Creation, AR Development, VR Development, Data Visualization, Digital Modeling
The goal of this project is to gather and identify the problematic environmental and wellness data that persist with an array of daily commutes through interactive data visualization. At the same time, bring awareness and build an understanding of the commuter struggle by using VR technology to grant the audience the experience of seeing these different methods through a commuters eyes. Subsequently, the project consists of a proposal for an alternative method of commuting that allows for an enjoyable and holistic system that gives both the users and the environment to relish and benefit from.
